The idea of Common Spirits began back in 2013. Jami Hawkins, a service industry veteran, was working as a bartender at Pizzeria Venturi and thought that she might want to open a place of her own specializing in classic cocktails using fresh ingredients. We (Jami and her husband Ryan) decided to investigate what it would take to accomplish this. After a lot of hard work and dedication, as well as a ton of support from our family, friends, and community (including a successful crowdfunding campaign!), Common Spirits opened in June 2016.
All of our cocktails are made with fresh juices (we hand juice each day) and other fresh seasonal ingredients. Our current food menu consists of Vietnamese street food inspired dishes that pair great with our specialty cocktails.
Our building originally housed a bank, and still contains the original safe, dated 1849. All of the remodeling work and furniture inside the historic space was lovingly handcrafted by us, along with the help from some amazing friends and family.
We hope you’ll join us soon!
